Charity Events 2024/2025

Throughout the school year St. Thomas’ pupils, staff and parents will be taking part in a variety of different charity events and fundraising activities. We would like to thank everyone for their continued efforts and say a very big well done! Please have a look at the charities we have supported so far and what we have done to raise awareness. Harvest Festival - 18th October 2024

At the end of the Autumn 1st half term, children, staff and parents/carers joined together in church for a special service to celebrate Harvest Festival and give thanks.

We would like to say a huge thank you to those who showed their amazing support, generosity and donated items to the harvest collection; this has now been delivered to Stockport Food Bank and has been very gratefully received.

Poppy Appeal - Monday 11th November 2024

The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal helps to provide modern veterans, service men, women and their families with crucial advice and support. The poppy is worn as a symbol of remembrance for those who have fallen but it is also a symbol for the future of the living.

In the lead up to remembrance Day St. Thomas’ staff and children had the opportunity to buy a poppy and items from the Poppy Day goodie box to show their support for this charity and the fantastic work they do supporting those who have fought to keep our country free and safe, and the families of those men and women who gave their lives and did not return. Thank you to all those who donated to this worthy cause.

A HUGE well done to all the children.

You have made me so proud this morning when showing your respect during the 2 minute silence at the Stockport War Memorial.

I have received a number of lovely comments from different members of the public about how well mannered and behaved the children were.

It was also nice for the children to meet the Mayor and other members of staff, plus the children had the chance to ask questions to the different armed forces.

Well Done St Thomas'

In total we have raised an amazing £..... for the Poppy Appeal.
